X Adventure –
A competitive team event involving multiple activities which can include orienteering, problem solving tasks, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, walking, rock climbing and abseiling. This event is adaptable to different venues and can be facilitated at various venues throughout Scotland.
The aim is to complete the challenge as set out in each team’s instructions, using maps and other equipment provided, as well as individual skills and team strengths. The event involves locating the areas highlighted on your master map. Here you will collect information, solve problems and participate in challenges, each will have a points value. Working in teams of 6-8 people, journeying by foot, canoe/raft or SUP, you navigate the course, completing the various elements of the event, you will earn valuable team points. Everyone who participates is a winner but your team could be the X Adventure champions?
Typically, an event will kick off paddling and navigating your way around the loch, looking for markers or clues on the way. Once the first clues have been found, you will paddle to land, from where you will hike and orienteer your way to the rock face where you will scale the heights. Some venues may also allow you to abseil back to the base. From there on it is full steam ahead, completing problem solving challenges while making your way back to the canoes or paddle boards to cross the loch to the finish line.
Note; although this event sounds fairly physical, it can be tailored to suit each individual group and takes into consideration the general fitness and ability of individuals in the team. We design the event to allow positive outcomes for all.
Open Canadian canoes, rafts, or stand up paddleboards are used for the event. Instruction on safety, paddling and navigation will be given prior to setting out by our qualified instructors. Instructors will be on hand at the rock faces to get you up and down safely.
